Went from packing boxes to appearing on the box?
Six years ago Kirstie Wright was packing car parts for Federal Mogul and now she’s enjoying a glittering career in television!
Kirstie enrolled at Bradford College on an Arts and Media Access Programme before progressing to a BA (Hons) in Art & Design course in the hope of fulfilling her dream of becoming an interior designer.
Having successfully completed both courses Kirstie landed herself a job on the ITV1 show 60 Minute Makeover. Kirstie impressed TV Producers after working as a volunteer on the show and was promoted to oversee the development of a room on each programme. She has recently accepted a full-time position on the show.
Kirstie accredits her role to the skills she developed at Bradford College. She said “I would encourage anyone to go back to College. I wouldn’t have thought it was possible to be doing what I’m doing now and I’m really proud of myself. It’s been a great experience… hard work but the best thing I’ve ever done! My job is hard work but great fun. It’s been rewarding to see people receive makeovers and get the chance to have their homes transformed. I never thought I’d get to this point. Six years ago I was packing car parts, now I’m exhibiting work and being featured on 60 Minute Makeover. It’s a dream come true.”
